Repeal of the Family Planning Waiver (SB 460 & AB 852)

Email To A Friend
Seeks to amend the current family planning program by removing women aged 15-17 from eligibility. Even if parents would themselves visit a family planning clinic with their teenager they would be denied the benefits of the Family Planning Waiver Program.

These bills could result in the termination of the Medicaid Waiver that provides low-income women with a "Healthy Women Program" which offers: contraceptive counseling and information, cervical cancer screens, STI testing and treatment, and annual health exams.

It would eliminate coverage for family planning services to thousands of Wisconsin women who most in need. Would result in the loss of millions in federal dollars and will cost state taxpayers millions to support the health care needs of low-income women who encounter unintended pregnancies.
